Sixty-two blades inspected from ropes, forty-one leading edges rebuilt on the turbine. No jack-up vessel was mobilised for any of them. Median turbine downtime per blade: 2.4 days, weather included.

Nine hours between two storms

Every turbine, once, before the summer

General visual inspection of all fifty-eight turbines: tower internals, transition piece, ladders, davits, bolted connections and blade root from the hub. Two hundred and forty findings raised, thirty-one of them ranked for action inside the same season. The array kept turning for the whole campaign; nothing on this scope needs a stop.

Where the seabed moved

Scour protection surveyed on twenty-six monopiles after a winter of easterlies. Rock cover was found thinned on nine of them and the survey handed over as a charted work list, not as a report. We do not place rock. We tell the operator where it is missing and how much.

Trailing edge, second season

Trailing edge bonds opened on nineteen blades, repaired from ropes and closed the same day where the cure allowed it. Eleven repairs are ones we mapped from the survey vessel the winter before, which is why the ropes went up knowing exactly where to stop.

Reading last winter’s paperwork on the tower

Every one of the thirty-one terminations from the winter campaign re-entered and inspected: seals, hang-off, bend restrictors, earthing. Four J-tube seals replaced. The point of the visit was to check our own work with somebody else’s eyes on it.

Two pulls, one tide

Two array cables re-terminated after an insulation test failed on the second string. Both pulls done inside a single settled spell in August, because the alternative was to leave a string down until spring. Test values went to the operator before the crew came off the tower.
